Invergordon: Founded: 1961 Debate: “Inwer-gorden” Meaning: Gordon’s estuary Status: in operation

Invergordon is a pure Grain Distellerie in the northern Highlands. It is one of the largest distilleries in Scotland and one of two still producing Grain distilleries outside the Lowlands. In 1965 Invergorden built an additional Malt-distillery on the premises of their Grain distillery. This was given the name “Ben Wyvis”. Due to quality problems, the distillery was closed down and torn down in 1977.
The whisky is oily in style, fruity and sweet.
