Edradour: Foundation: 1837 Debate: “edra-daue” Meaning: “between 2 waters* Status: in operation

The Edradour Distillery is located in the hamlet of Balnaudd near Pitlochry in the southern Highlands. Unofficially, whisky was probably produced as early as 1825, but the foundation was documented in 1837. Edradour is the smallest distillery in Scotland and looks more like a manor. If the stills were a little smaller, they would be considered transportable and the whisky would be distilled black. Every year it is honoured by more than 100000 visitors, who are guided by about 20 guides through one of the most beautiful distilleries. Andrew Symington – Signatory Vintage made a dream come true in 2002 and bought the distillery.
The whisky is strong in style and strongly dependent on the barrels used since 2002.
