Octomore wird in der Distillerie Bruichladdich hergestellt. Es gab von 1816 bis 1852 schon einmal eine Distillerie mit dem Namen Octomore, welche in Port Charlotte stand.
Der Whisky ist der torfigste Whisky der Welt.
