The distillery Glen Grant is located in a side street of Rothes. Even before that, the two brothers John and James Grant owned a distillery and are said to have smuggled successfully, although James was a lawyer by profession. Glen Grant started to use single malt quite early and is currently number 2 in the world market. For the record sum of 150 million Euros Campari took over the distillery in 2005.

The whisky is quite bright in style with herbal and nut flavours.
