Convalmore: foundation: 1893 pronunciation: “Konvalmor” meaning: “Gross-Conval* status: closed

The distillery Convalmore is located in the whisky stronghold of Speyside in Dufftown. Glasgow businessmen founded the distillery. After a fire, experiments were carried out with a Coffey Still, which could produce larger quantities. However, as the quality suffered, it was dismantled again after only five years. In 1985 the Diageo distillery was closed and then sold to William Grant & Sons, who only used the warehouses for Glenfiddich.
The whisky is fruity and malty in style.
