Cameronbridge: foundation: 1813 licensed 1824 Malt Distillery 1830 Grain Distillery pronunciation: “Kämeren Bridsch” meaning: bridge of the Cameron Status: in service

Cameronbridge was one of the first distilleries to use continuous still distillation from Robert Stein. Not surprising, because John Haig was his cousin. These were then supplemented in a separate Still House by two Coffey stills (perfected continuous still) and in 1929 the 2 continous still’s were also replaced. The distillery was expanded for 4 years for 105 million pounds and since 2012 about 120 million litres of alcohol have been distilled including Gordon’s Gin and Smirnoff vodka.
