A blend or blended whisky is a whisky that is mixed from different malt and grain whiskies. Andrew Usher jr. was the actual creator of blending around 1960. He was the first to create a blend that always had the same and reproducible taste. Blends had existed before, but mostly only in small editions, since he never succeeded in reproducing them. The art of the Master Blender is to find the right ratio of the 40 – 50 Grain or Malts whisky so that the end product always has the same and unique taste.
