Port Charlotte/Bruichladdich: Founded: 1881 Pronunciation: “Port Scharlot” Status: operational

Port Charlotte is produced at the Bruichladdich distillery. There was a distillery named Port Lochindaal in Port Charlotte from 1829 to 1929. Bruichladdich planned to rebuild this old distillery under the name Port Charlotte, and a groundbreaking ceremony even took place in May 2007. Equipment was dismantled from Inverleven and stored at Bruichladdich for later installation. However, due to a lack of necessary funds, the project was put on hold indefinitely.

The whisky’s style is peaty, smoky, and salty.
