Rum has the first documentary mention in 1650 as “rumbullion” (English about: great turmoil) and on July 8, 1661 by the Governor of Jamaica. It comes originally from the Caribbean and is usually made from molasses. When the name Rhum Agricole or Cachaça is used, it is made with freshly squeezed sugar cane juice. This rum is usually not so sweet and much tart than the molasses.
