Ladyburn: Founded: 1966 Pronunciation: “Läidi-burn” Meaning: “Stream in the swamp* Status: closed 1975

The Distillery Ladyburn was located on the west coast of the Lowlands at the Girvan-Grain-Distillery and was the most modern distillery of its time. Theoretically it could have been operated by only one man. Nevertheless she only produced for 10 years and was used for the blends of the Grant Group. But somehow the Ladyburn could not fully meet the quality demands of William Grant & Sons Ltd. and was closed again in 1975. The few single malt fillings are in great demand among collectors.
The whisky is soft, oily, fruity, sweet with vanilla.
